on your church or your religion?

how do you do it and what do you do if people turn you away?

when we were active in our other church, if I saw someone my age with kids I would invite them to church, or say we have such and such program for them. Most people did not seem to mind it.

I don't force it in anyones face, just test the waters if they might be interested.

I would never pass out pamphlets or such (I don't think my church even has any?) I would only tell people about my church if they indicated to me that they were interested in finding a church.

No, I figure most people are pretty set in their beliefs, and if they are looking for something else, they will seek it out on their own.

I'm not one to use pamphlets. I'd rather the way I live my life be an example to others. Hopefully, others will notice something different in me, and inquire and I'll be able to openly share how God works in my life. Don't get me wrong - I won't pass up an opportunity to talk about my faith. I guess that is the key. I think that sharing my faith should be relational (a discussion, a hug, praying for someone) not paper pushing.

Our church doesn't have pamphlets or tracts (is that what you call them?) but I invite people all of the time. I can't tell you how many times people have told me that if I or someone hadn't invited them, they would not have gone. All faiths are different though. Mine calls us to be open in sharing.

I would feel uncomfortable if someone I didn't know (or even did know) well started to talk to me about religion.

I've had people I know casually at work invite people at the lunch table to come to their church. It made everyone feel awkward. We weren't even talking about religion!

No, we don't at my church, but our sister church does go canvassing to a small town near them. I don't know how that goes for them.
