... when you find out a friend does something that you really do not approve of? Let's say, for example, you have some car problems and you've had a lot of problems with this car, and your friend tells you, "Just go hit a deer, have the car totaled out, and let the insurance pay for it. Lots of people do it."

I tell them that there's no way I would do something that dishonest. I am straightforward with everyone I know, and most of them would know what I think about it before I say it! But, I would definitely tell them how I feel about it. I don't think I could be friends with an immoral person.

I would just laugh because I would know they're joking around. Honestly. I don't have friends who would even think of doing something that seriously dishonest. If I did, I wouldn't be friends with them.

Now, if one out of the blue came up and suggested something like that to me or told me they had done something like that, I'd have to rethink my friendship with them. They would show by that that they weren't the type person I wanted to be friends with.

I would probably say something like "Are you crazy!" Aside from the fact that it is horribly dishonest, you could kill yourself hitting a deer!!

That's nuts. Hitting a deer is not something I want to do. I hit the behind of a deer once and it ran off with no damage to my car, but it sure scared the poo out of me.

I would probably ask her "what has she been SMOKING"

Then let her know how not only dishonest this was, but also dangerous.

If I had a friend who seriously advised me to do something immoral or illegal, or found out that the friend had done that and didn't feel remorse, I'd seriously reconsider the friendship.

If my friends told me that I would probably laugh because that is the type of joking they do, but if they said it very seriously I would reconsider the friendship and tell them straight up that I was against doing such a thing!

One of my friends actually did something similar when we were in college. We were leaving a club late at night and her car was FULL, as she was pulling out, I guess she couldn't see and tapped another car. Well the guy flipped out and kicked a huge dent in the side of her car. She did't realize it till the next morning (YES she was sober). She always parked her car on the street, and previously some guy keyed 'F- you' on the side of her car, so she called the police and made a report that 'someone kicked her car and keyed it while parked on the street'. The guy's car that she tapped I guess there was damage, but he never filed a report?? I didn't see the car, don't know. I saw her car though, that guy was a hard kicker.
