I LOVE the egg drop soup that they make at Chinese restaurants. Does anyone have a good recipe for this?? I have googled it and found a few recipes, but the soup ends up too thin and without much flavor. Thanks

I don't eat the stuff myself so I'm going by my husbands reaction, which could have been skewed by the fact that he was sick at the time. DH always wants egg drop soup when he's sick, but this time he was so bad he didn't get out of bed for three days. I don't drive, so I decided to check for recipes and see if I could make some. Turned out to be incredibly easy, and he was all how'd you get to the restaurant, did your mom take you? He didn't believe I made it till I showed him the recipe printout... said it tasted just the same.

Here's the link: Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup - Allrecipes

I only used a sprinkle of salt because I didn't have reduced sodium broth. I didn't use as much egg as it called for because as I was adding it, it looked like it was going to be to much. I read the reviews first and added the cornstarch before the eggs, you can cook it to your desired thickness better that way.

I make it often and we just use chicken broth bring it to a low boil and I whisk in an egg. Sometimes I'll add some very small chopped veggies. They add flavor. I also add chives. It works well when someone is sick and it's tasty. I never made it before DH went to China, then he came back and said he watched someone over there make it and told me how simple it actually was.
