Default Bacon Potato Chowder

8 slices (1/2 lb approx) bacon, cut into 1/2" pieces
1 c. (2 med) onions, chopped
2 c (2 med) chopped potatoes
1 c. water
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 (10 3/4 oz) can cream of chicken soup (or what ever you use)
1 c. sour cream
1 1/2 c. milk

in 3-Qt. saucepan cook bacon over med heat until browned. Add onion and continue to cook until tender. Drain. Add potatoes, water, salt and pepper. Continue cookings until potatoes are tender (15-20 min). Reduce heat to LOW and stir in cream soup, sour cream and milk. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally until heated through. Season to taste. Makes 6 servings.

This recipe was actually one that my husbands grandma gave me. My family loves it in the fall! (and winter as well!) I love good chowder soups and I love to make any type of soup! I do double this recipe and freeze half, it tastes just as good when you re-heat it.
