1/2 c butter
3-4 large Spanish onions, sliced thin
3 Tbs flour
3 cans beef broth
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 Tbs brown sugar
1 Tbs worcestershire sauce
4 1/4 c water
salt and pepper
garlic croutons
sliced mozzarella cheese,or swiss
In dutch oven, melt butter,saute onions til golden brown,add flour and blend.
Add broth, and remaining ingr.
Cover and simmer on low at least 3 hours.
Serve in ovenproof bowls, with garlic croutons floating on top.
Cover croutons w/cheese and broil til it melts.
