It didn't go well at all and we are not welcome back. Ok......

Ski school starts soon. I guess I am learning that we don't belong in the NT world nor are we welcome.

I'm sorry it didn't work out, but not surprised. It's not so much that he doesn't fit in the NT world, but that they are too closed minded and, not to insult, ignorant of his needs and how to best make him fit. He also may not be ready for this yet. He has come so far in such a short time, and this is a HUGE step. I would just sit tight for now, but get on some wait lists. Does your district have a preschool that includes SN kids?

I know you want so badly for him to fit into the NT world, but this world is really big enough for everyone, and anyone who doesn't help a special child does not deserve the rewards being with one can give. These children can teach compassion, and they always maintain such an innocence. I wasn't there, of course, but I have the feeling that they simply were not trained in this area. He deserves to be with someone who is trained, or who will try to make an effort to be trained, and who is patient and nurturing. He doesn't deserve less. How is he handling it? Were they at least nice to him?

I have to ask, what are you doing up at 2 am?! OMG! But I think I know, baby girl to feed?

Everyone was nice, but it just isn't for him. He is very smart and almost on track but he can't do what everyone else does. He is off in his world and the rest life really doesn't matter to him. So what if we are doing X, Hunter is doing Y and X doesn't mean squat so why are you doing it?

Also, his world is very black and white. There is no grey. If you say it is raining cat and dogs, then my DS is looking up for the cats and dog to be falling from the sky and doesn't understand why it is just rain if you said cats and dogs. Black and white.

It was a very sad day for us. My ABA workers are being children and bickering among themselves. I have to babysit them and his program is at a screaming halt. I must remember that they are just seniors in high school so the behavior they have is NT high school, like he said.....

Yesterday, they were so engaged in a like he said conversation that Hunter had a steak knife and was running with it. I had to tell them that he was doing that and get it away from him. I truly just get frustrated with the mentality.

I am looking forward to our mountain, Grand Targhee to open on Sat. The opening is on hold for right now but if we get 12 more of snow it will open. I need to see my DS succeed at something right now. I know he loves to ski, he is great at it and it makes him happy. I am joyful when I see him ski! We are to have a scholarship for his ski school and we are now very concerned if he can follow the other NT kids in direction on the mountain. Again, we need a few successes right now.

I will keep everyone posted about skiing and if I forget please remind me. Carol, if I could I would take the kids in a minute and let you have a good nites sleep.

Today is the Star Valley Christian Home school harvest feast at my house so we are in for a busy day!

I got tears in my eyes just reading your post tacoma_ranch. (Man I can tell my antidepressents are not working yet ). I so understand the need for them to succeed at something anything. I had truely hoped that preschool would work out. It makes my heart ache for both of you that it didn't. You will definately be in my prayers that ski school is better and please remember all the little success throughout the day.

Oh Tacoma, I'm so sorry that school wasn't a good fit for Hunter. I'm actually pretty pi$$ed off more. He really didn't get much oc a chance, did he? I have to believe that he'll be better off without them.

I'm hoping and praying ski school will be a huge success for you all. I know how it feels to wait for the "high" to lift us from the "lows". (((((((HUGS))))))
