Tell us about Christmas with your Special Needs child. My son is so obsessed with certain things - Bionicles, and now the RoboReptile. It's normal for a child to be obsessed around Christmas, but Asperger's children are especially this way. A couple of things he wants in the Bionicles line, like Rhakshi, are no longer made, and he is convinced that because Santa is magical, he can get the parts to make them. He gets even more excited than NT children on Christmas and has to be held back. This year, baby sister will be old enough (16 months) to be dangerous and fun, so he is actually looking forward to helping her, too. He is very excited about getting her the Turbo Tail Tigger. He is so sweet.

The best part about Christmas with my DS is that he is still so innocent. He most truly believes and his eyes just sparkle as he opens everything. He loves everything he gets, big toys as well as clothes, socks, even anything from the dollar store. He just gets so excited and is just so happy.

It feels so good to see him smile like that.
