My DD is Student of the Month!!

My dd was selected as Student of the Month for her entire 8th grade class. I'm so excited for her!
This is so huge for her because it's not something i had ever thought she would receive, it usually goes to popular kids or kids who do better academically and socially. Grades alone are not what determine who receives the award but i still never thought she would get it.
She gets to fill up a small bulletin board with pics of herself and her friends, family or pets. Little stories about herself and things she likes/dislikes and it goes on display in the glass trophy case in the school's front lobby. She will also get her picture in our small town newspaper.
She came to the car after school Friday smiling from ear to ear telling me she was chosen.
I was so excited for her i almost cried!!
This is so good for her right now with her anxiety issues and self esteem issues. I hope this gives her the incentive to try even harder in school and be more confident.
