We went to our second appointment yesterday to have ds evaluated. The doctor is so nice. She took him in for about 45 minutes. When they came back she was giggling and said, "He makes me laugh." He really enjoys going there. He said they did some puzzles and he read a story. She said that next weeks appointment will only be about a half hour. So...where almost done. Not as scary as I had imagined. It's all been a rather pleasent experience.

Thank you for sharing how the eval is going. What a pleasure to have a nice experience with the DR. and know your son is enjoying himself. If you feel comfortable sharing the DR's name so others may use her also, when you are ready.

So you are almost at the end and it is going well so far. Did Dr. say what she thought as far as a DX yet?

Treehugger, thanks for keeping up to date and please let us know as you find out.

Blessings, April

The dr.'s name is, Kerstin H. Block, Psy.C. from Amherst, NY. I highly recommend her.

She hasn't given me any indication as to her dx yet, but I think she's planning on meeting w/ me one on one when she is finished. Our next appt. is next Tues.

Oh, I'm so glad it went well! It sounds like she listens to him and appreciates kids. That makes all the difference, as he will loosen up, especially if she compliments him like that. They need to see him when he's at his silliest, as that is often how his friends and teachers are seeing him. I'm also glad that she didn't try to dx after only 45 mins. It does take time to get the whole picture. It sounds like you're on a great track! Kids love to make people laugh. Even my 20 mo. old likes to make people laugh. They like happy.

I'm so glad things are going well! I know you were so worried about it. Hugs and prayers that everything continues going well.
