I am a parent to a child that has shakin baby syndrome, just wondering if there was someone else out there that I could relate with and share stories. There is no groups or anything in my area, and it seems like we are the only ones around here working through it.

Hoping to hear from someone.

I was reading through your other post here. Wow, you have been through a lot!

Please continue to share with us. I don't know of anyone on this site yet who has dealt with this, and I, truthfully, hope there is nobody else who has had to, but there are so many cases, including here in Arizona. We never hear of the families after they are out of the limelight. It is actually good to hear how a little one can beat the odds with this horrible, willful and preventable tragedy. May both of you have continued strength and blessings.

I googled "Shaken Baby Syndrome Support Groups" and came up with a few things. Have you tried that? Some of the stories are so sad, I don't know if you are ready for them. One site was: Children of SBS

HTH!

Thanks for the site, DM. I read stories about shaken babies every now and then. Sometimes I feel good, and sometimes its like living the nightmare all over again. I just get so angry about the unfairness of it all. That for one person's loss of temper, a innocent child has to live with huge challenges for the rest of their life, if they live at all.

I wish the he had gone to jail. He took the cowardly way out and took his own life before the police found him. Sometimes I would just like someone to be mad at, for closure. I would like to tell my little guy someday, that the person who hurt him was punished for it. I don't know what I will tell him someday.........I only know that I love him and would take it all on myself in a second to make everything better for him.

My child is the Lord's gift to me, I am blessed that I did not lose him.

I am so sorry that this has happened to your family, the sentence above though says it all about the strength of love. You have him here, so you have the right attitude in focusing on the blessing of that.
