I am so glad to see that mommysavers has a SN forum. Two weeks ago, we found out that our second child has an omphalocele, clubfeet, and a poorly-formed sacrum (tail bone). We don't know if she will ever be able to walk...if there is nerve damage at the base of her spine, which is likely since she also developed clubfeet (her feet are controlled by sacral nerves), she may be paralyzed and/or have bowel and bladder issues. Needless to say, the wait is excruciating. Simply waiting until the next ultrasound feels like an eternity. I'm not sure if anyone else on this board has dealt with any of these issues (I'll continue browsing!), but I wanted to post this just in case there is. Please keep her - Bernadette - in your prayers. And know that y'all are in mine!

Wow, I'm so sorry. What horrible news to hear....what you must be going through. My prayers are with you and your family. So many people take for granite that they have a healthy baby and don't appreciate it. I don't have any experience with the condition of your baby.....just sending prayers.

Just pray that things will get better from here. A man that works for my dh was actually told to abort his baby due to defects they saw on an ultrasound. When he was born, the ONLY thing wrong with him is a club foot, which they have done surgery on twice already (he is 2). Keep your faith and know that God gave YOU this child for a reason. We are hear to listen, if you need us.

Oh, it's so scary to find out things like this! I so hope those readings are errors, and if not, we'll pray with you for the best for your child. In this day and age many things can be worked out. Surgeries far surpass the limitations that used to be in place. Please let us know as you go forward. And take care of yourself. You are important!

I know the excrutiating wait for an ultrasound. I pray the scan has errors, and she will have minimal problems. No matter what, we will be here for you! ((HUGS))
