He went to the Resource Room and got most of it done!!!!!
So he just has a small bit more to do at home. Plus his project, the poster which I am not concerned about. He did mention, however, how having the wide open space in the resource room helped him focus. His desk at home is in our office. His room is too small to put the desk into, but I'm going to see about reconfiguring our office in time for the next school year so he has that open space.
Also, the Dr. did up his dosage another 10mg, and he's still at a fairly low dosage (20mg, now, and his max would be 60 at his current weight). I agree...the Dr. would prefer not to switch him to another med since this one hasn't given off the number of negative side effects the first med gave him. This is another time I'm glad we've stuck w/the same ped. since DS' birth. He's also giving me a referral to a new Dev. Ped. (as we need an updated dx, since it's been 3 or 4 yrs. since the first) and audiologist, since I have questions about his hearing, and whether the ignoring what we say is the ADHD or something in his hearing. You can have good hearing but not be able to hear certain timbres/frequencies well. The Dr.'s referral will help us get in sooner than we could without a referral.
So mom's OK again. Today was his birthday, and he, too, had a great day. Daddy took him, his little sister and his best friend to the NASCAR race, so he had fun!
