Has it been awhile since your child was diagnosed? Have you had it updated? I'm in the process of doing so, since it has been awhile, and he's matured quite a bit. Some symptoms have gone away, others have changed, while still others have come to light. I'm also changing facilities, hoping to get more in the way of therapy suggestions. It's probably something you should do every 2-3 years, especially if you're on an IEP, which requires re-evals every 3 years. DS' OT therapist at school is suggesting that we need to see if after this year he still qualifies for OT. He just did the re-eval back in October, and both his teacher and I feel he still needs it. The medical update will, I'm sure, help back that feeling, too.

We actually did just have my 9 year re-evaluated. Yep. He is still ADHD, but since he's 9 now and has not been on meds for close to 2 years, it's like starting from scratch. (we lost our insurance and recently were able to get it back) He was originally dx at 4 years old, but not placed on meds until Kindergarten when his attention span became a classroom disruption.

You know, Rene, every time I hear a parent or teacher talk about a classroom or social interruption, my thought is "If this is bothering you so much, think about how he feels inside! Much of the time!" For us moms, it's such an everyday occurrence, it's hard to imagine a calm child! At least between DS and Diva, it's that way for me!
