Those of you that deal with Aspergers and ADHD: I read an article today that suggested that those with Aspergers and ADHD were more prone to being bipolar. I have trouble buying that.

I, personally, think that biological/genetics are a bigger player than Aspergers and ADHD are in bipolar. I think it's definitely something that can go together, but not a given, and not a necessary connection.

What is your experience?

My 18 year old son has Aspergers and he is not bipolar. He actually has several friends that are Asperger kids and they do not have bipolar, so in my experience they have not gone hand in hand.
