Tommy is as healthy as ever and in just 8 little days, he will be admitted to the hospital for his tracheal reconstruction...take 2! This is the same surgery he was scheduled for last month, but contracted the flu 2 days before surgery.
In the past month he has been doing fantastic developmentally. He's learned to sit unassisted if we place him in position. Still working on getting there himself. Then tonight, he started getting on his tummy and arching up to lift his head and chest. This is a REALLY huge deal because his physical therapist has been trying to get him on his tummy for a year and he won't do it. I took pictures to prove it to her he can do it. (it's on my blog)
So, keep us in your prayers that he stays healthy for the next week and that his surgery is successful. I'm going to outline the steps of what is next for his trach on my blog instead of trying to get all technical here, but basically it takes several steps to get the trach out, but doing so slowly means we have a greater chance of getting it out permanently.
