This appears to be talking more about mercury used industrially, but mercury is mercury. I have not been big on the vaccine/autism link, but to inject mercury directly into our kids? Bad. Our Dr. has told us that mercury is out of most vaccines now, but I occasionally find that not to be true. Instead, I find that thimerisol is being used. Isn't thimerisol a derivative of mercury?????

I have read that thimerosal was removed from all children's vaccines several years ago. To my knowledge, that is the mercury they are referring to (in vaccines). Apparently it's still used in some adult and flu vaccines, but not all of them. I just looked at an article on MSNBC that says it's still in some children's vaccines in trace amounts, but that's the first time I've heard that. The article also says that thimerosal is about 50% mercury by weight.

A couple months ago I read an article about a study done in South America (where thimerosal is still used in vaccines) which showed that it cleared out of the body fairly quickly (seeming to discount the argument that it can build up in some children's bodies to toxic levels). It was a small study, so it clearly needs follow up, but it's interesting nonetheless. Here's a link to the article if you're interested.
