I don't find these articles chock full of info, but I definitely think they bring issues to the surface and are great conversation starters:

What NOT to expect from an Autism diagnosis. For me, I expected the doctor to help guide me on what to do next. What a joke. I do wish that was part of what they did. It's like, here's what is going on with your child, here's your hat, my bill and the door. I couldn't get answers even when I knew enough to start asking.

Autism and illness: Autistic children - including those on the higher end of the spectrum, like my son is, are often sicker - their immune systems are just not up to par. The school made a few comments on how much my son was ill, and were surprised when I had statistics to give them. It was great that the school psychologist was in the room and was able to back me up.
Autism and Illness: an Informal Poll

No, Parents don't cause Autism: Do you know that back in the 60s and early 70s they actually blamed the parents, especially the moms, whom they called "refrigerator moms"? We're starting to come a long way, but we parents will always feel a bit of guilt and ask questions in that vein.
