Default If your child has ADHD, do you fear him/her driving?

I never really thought about this, until I read about some parents saying they never expected their child to drive due to extreme ADHD. Wow. But I can see how, and with my son not noticing things, being physically clumsy, and forgetting things, it could definitely become a concern. Thankfully, I have 8 more years before worrying too much!

My DS has ADHD and just started driving in March. He does really well. We haven't had any problems yet. He seems very focused while driving.

Well as you know the princess has ADD, although hers might not be as bad as some. But yes, I worried about it because she does NOT pay attention to small details and get distracted and forgetful still. But somehow she's making it work. She's been driving almost a year now, although she mostly just drives around here locally like to school or a friends house, but she's had no problems.

I think ANY teen driving is scary, and knowing your child has ADD does probably raise the anxiety more. Everytime there's a story on TV about some teen dying in a car crash, I get a little sick to my stomach.

Good question though desertmom!!
