I thought this was really great:

http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/n...rs/index.jhtml

I know celebrities are always raising money for other worthy causes ( AIDS research, breast cancer, hurricane victims,) but I have to admit it's nice to see them giving back to an area where as many as 1 in 166 children are affected.

Thank you for this info. I agree. The numbers are staggering and increasing. I'm glad they're doing more research, and more support and resources is needed.

I guess no one ever thinks of autism until it affects them---I know I never did.
I just read on a New Zealand autism board that it can be as many as 1 in 100 children affected but I think these numbers include disorders such as ADD and OCD (which I have heard some dr's consider are on the spectrum). Anyway, I'm thankful for any fundraising efforts. Hats off to comedy central.

I agree that you don't really pay attention to anything in life until it hits close to home. Thank God for the comedy central to bring more information public about autism.
