Artie: (Robin): I am interested in finding PT in a pool for my son due to coordination difficulties and muscle tone. How do I start finding one? My insurance company? Thank you.

I would start with your doctor's office. They may know. I actually found out about pool therapy from a mom I met at the park. It turns out she's a speech therapist (also named Robin with a dd named Lily) and mentioned it to me that she thought my Lily would really benefit from it. I checked with Lily's OT through the school district, got the order from Lily's pulmonology clinic, and went from there. They do pool therapy at the local Children's hospitals through their PT department. I actually take her in this afternoon for her appointment! Make a few calls, but start with your doctor's office. You could also check with one of your ds's therapists (if he's getting other therapies) because they might know too. I can already see a huge difference with Lily! Let me know how it goes!!

Evening Carol,

I wanted to add in to check with your local recreation center if they have an enclosed pool. Perhaps they have lessons and a lift.

We are blessed to have an indoor swim spa about 16 feet long at our house in an enclosed room. Hunter and I swim everyday all year around. It does help by the floating and release on the body.

We also have the horses, the program, gymnastics, skiing, wow, I would think something would help!

Wishing you the best, April
