Today was a great day at Gymnastics. I went out and help Hunter with his warm ups and then sat with him and helped him with WAIT and also used Red light Green light to help him with going and waiting. He sat most of the time, didn't touch anyone and didn't get too rammy. I left after his first try at balance beam and he did so much better than last week. Yea, a good day!
Also we traveled to Dr. Higbee's ASSERT school at USU in Logan, Utah yesterday. I took the high school girls who work with him to school so they could see how it is suppose to look like and meet the good DR. Well, Hunter jumped in and had snack, asked for things, said thank you, helped clean up, waited in line, again, it was just wonderful.
I told Dr. we were having behavior problems and he was elated! He said because Hunter now has language and ask for things and understand expressive responses he doesn't always like the answer so he acts out. Yeah!

So it is good news that we are close to getting on track with the NT's. They even suggested we take him out of the free state preschool and put him in a preschool with NT's. He said most of Hunter's issues now are how to act with NT's and he need to see normal kids and how they do and then parrot their behaviors. Wow, we have really made fast progress.
Last May he could only say 13 words! Now we are working on synataxs. We are going to continue with the program and keep working on skills and learning, but I finally feel like we can take a deep breath.
Thank you friends if you have read this entire post.
