I feel for you and for your son. Could the meds be making this happen? Is an adjustment or change needed? Did you, your dh or a sibling of yours wet at that age? The daytime wetting is a new one, so I would definitely bring in your pediatrician and therapist. Could there be an anxiety issue that needs to be addressed? I'm just learning about the issues that anxiety causes. I'm not a doctor, but my first feeling, in reading your post, is that the meds are causing a loss of control and need an immediate adjustment or change. Will he let you have him wear overnights until this passes? He will want to know this is not his fault; you're just trying to help him through while you find the right solution. Is there a reason he refuses his meds? Could they make him feel yucky?
With some kids, they don't recognize the signs that they have to go - my son still has to be reminded (he's 6) when I see him dancing. Then he says he'll hold it so he can play. That's why I'm wondering about the med adjustment - it may be making the sensation more numb. I hope you get a good answer soon. Poor little guy.
