Do you have any goals (aka resolutions) for 2009 when it comes to saving money or spending less?

BE MORE PREPARED!

This year threw us a lot of curve balls. I hadn't intending on quitting my job, we didn't know dh was gonna travel for months on end, AND we most certainly didn't know they weren't going to pay him appropriately till January. Its been a hard road, but we are getting there and I plan on being more prepared for these curve balls come 2009.

We are going to be redoing our budget for next year soon. I think I did a great job of staying within our grocery budget while building up our food storage in 2008, so hopefully I will continue to do that next year.

Also, I want to continue to make more money in all my "on the side" endeavors. It's looking good - I have 2 more piano students starting in January.

We have the goal to not go overboard with buying unnecessary stuff for baby (due in June). I'll probably be coming back on here for more encouragement about that in a few months. We also want to increase our emergency fund and I want to learn how to better utilize my stockpile. I also want to be able to bring in a bit more on the side.

I want health insurance and, if our business goes well, we will have all of our debt payed off ... minus the house. That is my goal. And I know that is a pretty big goal -- we'll see what happens.

I want to stick to my budget. If we do it we will have saved over $6000, $3000 for our wedding, and $3000 for a down payment on a car, all while working away at paying down our 55K of student loans. We are planning on buying a car next winter, so I guess that's a goal, too.

I don't want to pay transaction fees for using too many transactions at the bank. I get 25 included with my plan (which costs me nothing) and anything over 25 costs $.65, lately I've been using closer to 50 transactions!! I got a PDA for Christmas (yes, I already have my present), and I plan on tracking everything meticulously to make sure that doesn't happen.

One of my main goals is health insurance for me since mine just dropped in July!

Also, pay OFF ALL DEBT, and build an EF and a 6month Expense fond.

Yes we are going to re-do our budget for the year and see where we can cut back on -- all the unnecessary expenses.
