Wow this is a great thread. I just learned how to crochet and I am currently learning to sew. So I think some people will be getting blankets, scarfs and such. Im gonna have to make a list of people and some ideas to go with it.

I love this and may have to borrow it!

-For DH's grandparents I think I'm going to make a fleece tie blanket, snowman soup and a soup mix. Kindof a comfort type basket.

-For the older little girls I'm making Toe Jam jars- Jars decorated and filled with nail polish, nail stickers, nail files, toe separators, etc.
-I also want to make a super hero cape for my son like someone on here mentioned, but I don't know how to sew, so we will see how that goes...lol

What is snowman soup??? And i LOVE the art basket idea!!!

What is snowman soup???
Snowman Soup Recipe:

Assemble in a gift bag, gift mug or small zipper food storage bag:

* 1 individual packet hot chocolate mix
* 2-3 chocolate kiss candies
* 10-15 mini-marshmallows
* small candy cane

And here is the poem to attach to the package:

Snowman Soup
Was told you've been real good this year.
Always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near,
You'll need to warm the spirit.
So here's a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick.
Add hot water, sip it slow.
It's sure to do the trick!

I got several great deals on clearance christmas scrapbook supplies, and I am going to make small christmas memory albums for our families (I have to do about a dozen - so the last step is to find a good deal on the actual albums) I am making them all the same, so it should be a simple matter of a weekend crop or something to get them all cranked out and finished way before Dec.

I haven't decided on Christmas gifts yet, but here are some things I'm planning to make soon:
rice warmer for my niece
watermelon slices and popsicles to add to felt food sets and play mail (for the girls' birthdays in the spring)
basket liner (I don't know how to make this, so help me out if you do!)
tree skirt and stockings for next year.
camera cosy for my sis
shoulder bag - I actually already made this, but wanted to share the link. It's a great tutorial.
crochet hook case (for me!)

My sister just moved out of the house so I am going to put down all the favorite family recipes as well as some good new ones and ones similar to things I know she enjoys, as well as some blank ones and a nice recipe box. May put it all on a roasting pan with some measuring cups, spoons, spatula, pizza wheel etc

I may do the same recipe thing for my mother because hers are everywhere and written on random scraps of paper or ripped out of magazines etc

All the little kids are going to craft or pretend boxes. Random dress up yard sale finds, scraps of felt, fabric, glue, foam pieces, straws, pipe cleaners, twisty ties, google eyes, yarn, beads, paper towel tubes, etc etc. Not enough kids can create things these days, try to keep some imagination and creativity alive haha

I also might make some "snuggies", my youngest sister (kindergarton) goes crazy over these commercials and insists she must have one lol

I've also been drawing for years and use that skill pretty frequently for gifts. This Christmas I had my mother in tears over a horse picture I did for her, so might as well stick with what works haha.

Every year I give away 100s of pounds of fudge. I start stocking the non-perishable supplies in September so that when Thanksgiving rolls around I am ready to get busy in the kitchen. I also look for containers all year long to give it in.

Sets of custom cards and notepads also make great gifts and can be made all year long.
