I LOVE THESE IDEAS, BUT WHAT KIND OF JARS ARE YOU MAKING THE NAIL POLISH JAR OUT OF...WHAT ABOUT THOSE PLASTIC PENCIL CASES THAT ARE ON SALE FOR 25 CENTS NOW?
Those pencil boxes are a great idea! I was just going to use mason jars with fabric added to the top, but I like the box idea.

I got all my craft supplies at the back to school sales for my art boxes so I have 3 people checked off! woohoo!

Along the same lines, I make homemade chocolates for the holidays. My sister makes cards and I love getting them as a gift!

A friend of mine (an art teacher) make cute little watercolored gift tags and wrapped them up for all her friends. These were great to pull out for gifts all year!.

I went back to my Walmart and got a kit for my kids to make and decorate 4 stepping stones. They are going to give them to grandparents, godparents/aunts/uncles! Thanks for the inspiration. I also saved $3, because when I first saw them the kit was $10, today I paid $7!

I found a pattern for a "snuggie-type" blanket I would like to make for some family members, but an adult-sized one takes 3 yards of fleece and a child-sized one takes 2 yards. Can anyone suggest where I can buy very well priced fleece for these? I already receive coupons for Joann's and unfortunately, there are no Hancock fabric stores near me. Any help would be appreciated!!

Walmart has inexpensive fabric, if your store carries it. I don't know how much the fleece is, but everything else is cheaper than using a coupon at Joann.

I found a couple of more ideas for simple inexpensive gifts for people on my list.

First is a Cherry Pit Pillow but I am going to use rice and herbs, I posted a link to the website I found under Saving Money Spending Less, check it out.

I also see a cute idea in a mag the other day. Take old tea cup and saucers that you find at your local thrift shop and either buy a candle to put inside it or make the whole tea cup into a candle. If you find some colorful cheerful tea cups the better. I may use this idea for gifts at the baby shower I will be having this fall for my friend.

I have also seen where you take old cup and saucer and glue them together..need a ceramic bit and drill a hole in the center and screw a metal dowel and they are yard decorations..fill with bird seeds..so cute! Never made one, but they look cute! Check out garage sales now for them cheap!

I put a thread up with just this recipe but thought I would add it to here. This could make a great gift for mom or grandma.

I found this recipe for bath salts thought I'd share it with you all. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds like a good idea to make up for some girls on my christmas list.

MAGIC BATH SALTS

4 cups Epsom Salts
1 envelope of unsweetened Kool-aid or Equivalent, any flavor.

Pour half the Epsom slats into a clean one-quart container. Empty the pouch of drink mix. Cover and shake until combined.

Add the rest of the salts and continue shaking. The color will be minimal but will appear once you toss them into your bath water.

Use up to a 1/2 cup of bath salts per bath. For more drastic color double or triple the recipe.
