well i would have to say our biggest money saver is making homemade cleaners. 2nd i would say is our cut down on usage of papertowels. man i used to use so many paper towels. now i use white rags and bleach them.

My bucket of Charlie's Soap (laundry detergent). I probably have another year to go without buying detergent.

Our biggest moneysaver like you said is making some of our cleaners. Another is not using paper plates anymore. We were going through a huge pack each week. Its more work washing dishes but definitely less garbage and money thrown away.

Ours is definitely cancelling our satellite subscription. That saves us $60 a month.

Biking. I may live in Canada, but I bike everywhere around town all year (I rent a car when I need to leave town). Saves me insurance, gas and car payments. I figure I save at least $500 a month for all of that (that's not even including any work done to the car). Last year I spent about $500 on car rentals and gas, and in the whole year I spent maybe $3 on some oil for my bike, so I saved roughly $5500 total by not having a car.

My biggest money saver is just being organized and prepared -- sometimes that means making sure we have a few frozen meals in the freezer to keep us from stopping to get fast food on those crazy nights when we get home late, sometimes it means taking a few snacks from home with us when we go out so we do not have to buy anything.

Wow, that is a big savings!

Mine is similar but not quite as good as yours.

We only have one car and it's small so it's great on gas. It takes a lot of sacrifices with a family of 4 and a lot of scheduling but it works and saves us thousands a year on that 2nd car.
