Do you have any ideas for inexpensive yet thoughtful holiday gifts for teachers, sunday school teachers, daycare providers, etc.? Post them here!

We always bake mini-loaves of mini-choc. chip banana bread and then pick out baskets, candles and hand towels at the $ store. We also make homemade candy such as choc. bark with oreos in it. Then we put it in a basket and give 1 to each teacher. My kids also make homeade ornaments to include with the gift tag. It costs about 5-7 dollars per teahcer.

I think this is a good idea. My dd's go to a childcare/preschool 2 days/week and they have the scholastic book club where the school gets a percentage. So I am ordering each teacher a gift card that costs 3.95 and the teacher can get any book (I'm sure within reason) for their class. I think this is especially good since so many teachers spend their own money for stuff for their classrooms.

The teachers that I know all say the same thing... They wish the parents would buy something for the classroom. Since teachers have to pay for supplies out of their own pockets, they really appreciate this kind of gift. It can be books, markers, kleenex, wipes etc. They also like it when parents offer to come in and grade papers or help out with whatever the teacher needs help with.

School supplies, candles, hot cocoa mix

A friend gives the teachers homemade packets of seasonings with labels on how to make dressings or dip with it. She does one for dill dsg, italian dsg. It is really a cute idea and cheap sa well. YOu can do that and even the beans to make bean soup or those cute shaped pastas and the items to make pasta salad.

I only have one child in school so I can spend a bit more. . . i'm thinking of a $10 gift certificate to the local school supply store. They can choose things to use in the class without it being their own money.

I was able to attend a field trip with the class and took a cute picture. I think I may find a cheap frame and have my daughter decorate it for the teacher??? Not sure about it, but if someone gave me a gift like that I'd love it. I'm a big picture person though.

As the room mom for Riley's class, I have put out a letter asking each child to send in just a couple of dollars...and I will put it all together and go buy a gift certificate to the teacher's favorite restaurant or shopping place!! This way, if they want to do something little, too, they can, but regardless, the teacher gets a really nice gift overall!

I get a wire whisk, fill it with Hershey kisses, wrap the end in saran wrap, tie with a ribbon and add a tag that says "I WHISK you a merry KISSmas!"

We always give a gift certificate to a bookstore for Christmas and a gift cert. for a local restaurant for the end of the year gift.
