I hope this is the right place to put this. But I just wanted to mention to everyone that if you are looking for a low cost or, sometimes, even free way to get health services done, check out your local business / technology institutes. For example the school I attend offers teeth cleaning. I believe it is free for anyone that goes in. At this time they are even looking to pay anybody $50, if their teeth are bad enough, to get their teeth cleaned. You see in order to get certificates they have to put in so many hours doing things. Our cosmetology department offers low cost services. So check them out if you have one in your area. You may just be able to help out a student in graduating and walk away with big savings.

This is a great idea. I have used nail technicians for getting my nails done for cheap. I have never used them for a hair cut but my friends have. But I do not trust newbies to do my eyebrows!! That is one thing that I will ALWAYS pay full price for! LoL

Sometimes you can get low-cost veterinary care at the Humane Society. Many places like Pet Smart also hold low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics.

Speaking of vaccinations, I get my DD's vaccinations done at the Health Department office. It is only $16 a shot (cheaper than my doctor's office visit co-pay) and she doesn't associate the doctor's office with getting a shot.

Finally, last summer, I offered to share the harvest from my cherry and apple trees with a woman at church. She paid for the insecticide (apples and cherries DO need to be sprayed) and helped me apply it. I watered the trees and kept her up to date on what was happening with them then we harvested together. Applying the insecticide wasn't a chore I could do on my own so without her help, my crop would have been a waste. Now we both win!
