-Less water is used during a normal shower than a bath.

-I use water from the dehumidifier to water the flowers during the spring/summer.

-Get a lowflow shower head.

Rain barrel for outdoor use.
Less grass...more mulch/natural space and things like that that may require less water and maintenance.

-put a 24 oz filled bottle in your toilet tank

-use your bath towels more than once

-wear your clothes more than once if you can

-use less water when you wash your dishes

These just stun me. Unless I was out in the garden & got all mucky, or spilled something, clothes get worn more than once. We use our towels for a week.

Also, don't water your lawn.

Use the dish washer and not hand wash.

Close the faucet while you brush. I try to conserve water a lot living in Atlanta.

We recently changed over to paying for the water we use rather than just a flat rate. Here is what we have figured out so far:

-Put something in your cistern so each flush uses less water.
-Taps off when brushing teeth.
-Rain/ bath water used to water garden.
-Wear clothes until people complain about the smell!

Some people just will not reuse their bath towels. My mom is one of them. She washes more towels in a week for just her than I do in a month for my family of 4. I've never understood it since you are clean when you get out of the shower, but to each their own.

Make sure you only run full loads of clothes and dishes.

Ok here is one I have done.
If you have a gym membership use it. They have showers and that isn't using your water.

I am dreading our next water bill we are pressure washing the house needs to be done. We saved money in that we barrowed it from DH's work so no cost in either owning or renting one.
