My brother recently found a postcard I sent him 19 years ago.

It says: I hope you like this picture of the train. It was on sale for 5 for a $. I think that's proof enough that being frugal is in my blood!

When I was real young and had my first couple of jobs I wasn't frugal at all.

I do remember getting dh a gift once and instead of putting it in a bag I got a bucket from the dollar store because I knew he would use it. I don't know if you would consider that frugal or practical.

No I was not. That money was always burning a hole in my pocket. I still have days like that now, although it is only once in a blue moon.

I guess in many ways yet. When I was little my mom had me and my sister be responsible for buying Christmas gifts for our family and then as teens for clothing. So we had to be. College was a little more lax but I still did things like getting water instead of a drink.

Heck I dated a barista can you say daily free latte.

No not always I think things have been a lot harder on everyone lately. It seems like everyone I know no matter how much money they have are starting to cut back on something.

no way---wish I had been though. I never got in "trouble" I would have a month here or there that the cc balance would roll over and dh and I had car payments before etc. I would say it has only been a few years since I really got the message.
