Money is going to be very tight this month so the challenge is going to be to cut back on the food budget.

You can do this by limiting the number of times you eat out.

You can do this by trying to not throw any food away. Use it up before it expires and eat leftovers.

Try shopping at a new place. Check out Aldi's if you haven't yet.

Or you can do a pantry challenge. Go check out the pantry and see how many meals you can feed your family with what you have on hand.

My food spending is outrageous this month. My husband went to the store and spent $40 on treats. Hopefully, at least our eating out will be down, since we'll be using a gift card for our anniversary.

I'm going back to keeping a budget for food/eating out. I finally tallied up what we spent in June and it was about $900!!!

We did have some birthdays, graduations last month, but that amount is just totally unreal for us. Total mindless spending.

We have to limit the times grabbing a bite through the fastfood lines.

I also want to limit the Costco runs this month to see if smaller runs to our Smart & Final can help get what we spend down. S&F is limited in what it carries in meat/produce, but we do have some meat in the freezer that we can use for meals, plus it helps clean out the freezer.

I totalled my grocery/food spending for the year so far. Jan through April were $600. May $700 June and July $900 - OUTRAGEOUS! There are 5 of us and we have been spending a lot more on produce, but still.
