this is SO stupid. LOL

SO My kids pooled thier money and had a gc for walmart that had about $80 on it, so they wanted to buy themselves a pool. They picked out a 12 foot blow up with the filter. First we are arguing about WHERE to put it, he wanted it under the tree, who puts a pool UNDER a tree? God forbid where I want to put it,it will kill the grass. LOL SO I win that fight and its going in the sun, and killing the grass.

THEN I suggested he put the tarp underneathe it to protect it. I pulled the old crappy one out of the shed, and offered up that one. He insists that he needs to buy a new one, we'll save the old one for hauling stuff to the dump. THEN He expectsME to give him money to BUY a new tarp. Now I know they aren't alot of money, but its just the point. He has $10 left from the $20 I gave him yesterday, so I told him to just use that. If he MUST buy a new one, then use your money, if you don't want to use the old one.

Ugh! it just makes no sense to me. He'll never understand this crazy idea of 'saving money'.

a tarp is going to be more than $10 the bigger the size goes the more money they get and to get one to fit unde the pool is going to be atleast around $25 even at walmart.

I can't imagine my husband having to ask me for money to buy a tarp. A $10 clean tarp will be cheaper than replacing a $100 pool (because the holes never really repair correctly.) You probably should get some sand to put under the pool, too, so you can level the area (you're killing the grass anyway). The pool directions will tell you not to put sand under the pool but you have to level the ground somehow. And chemicals. You need chemicals for the pool.

I thought that most of those types of pools came with some sort of ground cover? I do think a new one would be better to ensure that the pool isn't poked. Why does your dh have to ask you for money to buy one

Does your old tarp have any holes or worn spots in it? If it doesn't then I'd just use that and he could use his own money if he insisted on a new one. Why buy a new one when the one you have would work just fine?

If the old tarp isn't in good shape, then I'd just give him the money for a new one. I think it's great that your kids saved their money to buy a pool! It'd be a huge disappointment for them to have it spring a leak because the tarp underneath wasn't in good shape.

We have a 4x15foot pool and you need a new tarp to insure the pool is safe. If you tear it or poke a hole in it, you will have to buy a new one. The repair kit does not work like they claim it does. And by they time you buy the chemicals, and everything else you might as well spend the money on the new tarp too.

I second the sand. We use it and it is great to level the ground.

Have fun with it and enjoy the water.

.

Exactly! We had a tarp, I couldn't see WHY he had to buy a new one when the one we had would work fine.

SO looks like I lost anyway. LOL He went to Job Lot to buy a tarp and it was 11.99, he only had $11 on him. SO He came home, and tried to use the old tarp, but it wasn't big enough. SO I gave him the extra dollar to buy a new one.

The reason he had to ask me for money is because he is spend thrifty and I got tired of paying overdraft fees because he doesn't care of pay attention to the bills and takes out what he wants. So NOW, I am the ATM machine and when I'm broke, he is broke. If you do a search of my old posts, you'll see where I'm constantly complaining that my husband can not handle money at all and is constantly overdrawing my checking acct.

I agree with both of these comments. I can't imagine TELLING my DH what he could or could not buy or what money he could use to buy it with. I also don't understand where you say you GIVE him money. My DH would die if I was that controlling. Just my opinion.

Whatever. You all don't pay my bills or live my stress. I was just venting that I saw no need to buy a new tarp.

I agree with you. I would have just used the old tarp if possible before going to buy a new one.

I have read so many of your posts where you have struggled with your DH and money so I understand why you are controlling the money now. I would have done the same thing if I were in your shoes.
