What do you splurge on? Skimp on? Ugh! My wardrobe is so outdated!

I wouldn't say I'm fashionable but I love to shop Ross or Marshalls. You can't beat Liz Claiborne tops for $10.

What works for me is to shop sales. I never buy anything full price. The places I buy at most frequently not only have great sales, but have outlets near me too. So I am patient. LOL I typically luck out and find the item I'd been wanting for a fraction of the cost.

I am a classic dresser, so I am happy to pay a little more for quality items that will last me years and years...but I don't want to pay full price!

The thing to a fashionable wardrobe is having wardrobe staples that you can mix and match.

I also shop at Ross!

I buy classic pieces instead of trendy stuff, that is only "in" for one season.

I also buy at the stores, when an item is on sale.

You can also find practically new clothes at yard sales and consignment stores. I have found tons of new clothes at yard sales this year, with the tags still on them.

Buy what you really like and what looks good on you. This way you will wear it and get your money's worth, and it won't just hang in the closet.

I buy basic bottoms in black, brown, navy and gray. Then I buy colorful tops in bright colors or patterns that I can mix and match.

I just bought 2 really nice, but fairly inexpensive cardigans/shrugs and then went to Old Navy for their clearance sale and got a bunch of tanks for practically nothing to wear under them.

Goodwill and walmart are by most common clothing stores. As for online, I like 15dollarstore.com. Everythings $15!

I go to Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory, or Kohl's when they are having sales to get a couple of nice things here and there.

I shop at more high end thrift stores, clearence racks at Kohls, Herbergers, JCPenny's, Sears ( I love these stores because a lot of times you can shop the clearence racks and combine it with coupons to get some really great deals). I also do the after season sales.

I have to admit that I am horrible with clothing. I lost over 100 pounds this year and have been going crazy with the wardrobe. In the past 10 years nothing felt right or looked good because I went between 200-250 lbs and was at my highest a size 24 so I never went shopping. Now that I'm a size 6 I'm making up for not shopping a lot before. Thankfully, we have a couple of great consignment stores in my town and I have signed up online to get coupons for my fave stores and do not buy anything full retail. BUT I have to admit that there is a lot of pleasure I get from dressing fashionably and having the cutest clothes. I need to get the budget under control. It is a benefit that my daughter and I wear the same size shoes and clothing so really the clothes are going pretty far. Ahh! who am I kidding! I'm an addict!!!!! Must stay away from New York and Co!!!
