This is funny as I was just thinking about how my "treats" have changed. It used to be a Starbucks as I browsed Pottery Barn. Last week I got a cappucino from Speedway and browsed Goodwill! Actually both are fun treats for me - I seldom buy anything, but I love to drink a yummy coffee and look around for ideas.

My little treat is either a bottle of Mountain Dew, or lately a package of Yoo-Hoos. I'm pretty easy to please. Very rarely I can convince my dh to get me some Taco Bell. He hates it, but that is my treat.

As Moms we tend to be a bit selfless but a few months ago I decided to 'invest' in my health by joining a local gym. Since I started the program I've lost several clothing sizes. So, my 'simple indulgence' (but still quite frugal) is to stop at the Goodwill store on dollar day each Monday and buy myself a "new" pair of pants or a "new" shirt in a smaller size.

The expense is minimal (in a monetary sense), but it feels so good!

My favorite frugal things that add a pick me up in my life, is getting my FREE Woman's Day magazine in the mail each month. Also working in my garden. It isn't free to start because of the plants that I have to buy but just feeling the ground running through my fingers and watching the benefits of my hard work growing in front of me is a great comfort and pick me up when life becomes hard to deal with. And lastly, my grandson cooing at me with a faceful of peace and tranquility, a cool wet lick from one of my puppies or a kitten curled up in my lap purring is a reminder that life is full of lots of free pick me ups when you take the time to look for them.

I was reading these entries and thinking to myself, "I need to have my husband read these." I don't think husbands really get to money conscious their wives are. I think he would be suprised and maybe a bit humbled to see how over and over again, us moms keep talking about how we consider spending $5 a week MAXIMUM on ourselves is a "splurge," considering how much time and money we spend on our families.

It was amazing how much I could see myself and my way of thinking in all of your answers to the question!

I treat myself to a large Toblerone candy bar about once a month.... There are 10 pcs or so, so it is something that lasts a while at my house (unless DH discovers it and is in the mood for chocolate!).

I love my frugal exercising as well - running or walking with my dogs.

I love my free magazine subscriptions as well!

Hopefully Im still able to enter...
My little indulgence after spending a lot of time being frugal is to go out twice a month to a good steak / seafood restaurant - we go to the beach front restaurants and enjoy the time on the beaches (in good weather) as well.
