Although my teen would disagree there has never come a time when there was nothing in the house to make. I keep a full freezer and a pantry overflowing with many things soups and pasta included. If we are both feeling like there is nothing we agree on eating we opt to make breakfast for dinner. Bacon or sausage; hashbrowns, french toast, waffles or pancakes. I even have blueberries from our yard in the freezer to add in.

Posse Stew: Ground Turkey, Hominy, Corn, Pinto and Black Beans, Green Chili and Stewed Tomatoes

I ALWAYS have this ingredients on hand. Cook the meat and heat it all together. Takes less than 30min and my DH and DS LOVE IT.

Ok, i'll admit it--i have a pantry problem. I grew up in the country and shop like I still live 20 miles away from a store so we always have an overflowing pantry and freezer, which is awesome for right now when money is so tight (I do have a year's supply of tp in the closet and I live a mile from the store--it's so sad). Except for milk, we could get by with not shopping for a couple of months (not that I will, since it has already been acknowledged that I have a problem). When things do get tight and we have eaten through most of the surplus we do a lot of traditional german recipes because they are mostly flour and water with some meat or a little veggie thrown in.
knephla, knephla soup, case knephla (cheese ravioli from scratch), pancakes, oatmeal, french toast
