LOL! Oh let the fun begin!!!! Ok so here's my latest "issue"...keeping my carpets stain free!

This is the first house that I've purchased that has carpet throughout all the main rooms (not the kitchen though LOL). All my other homes have had hardwood or parquet flooring so party spills/ messes didn't stress me out. This year I'm stressed LOL!

I will be hosting our family Christmas party this year which will include people walking around eating and drinking. I'm also VERY freaked about the kiddy craft table which will be on carpet too (no choice) but at least it I have purchased a large piece of scrap carpet to go under the table and covers a bit of the surrounding area.

So what do I need help with...the menu! Help me come up with ideas that are festive but won't give me a heart attack seeing people walk around eating. Oh and any *cleaner* kiddy craft idea and activities would be much appreciated too (age ranges 3yo-9yo).

Burn the good candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion...Today IS special.

A tray of cheese/crackers or cheeseball shouldn't be too messy. You can add color with pickles or fruit.

What about a sub sandwich tray. As long as you don't coat it with tons of mustard, it shouldn't be messy.

Instead of a carpet remnant under the kids craft table, you might consider picking up a couple of shower curtain liners from a dollar store.

Depending on the ages of the kids and how much adults want to help, making Santa hand ornaments is fun and cute. The kids would need to trace their hand on a piece of heavy white paper or fun foam. Cut it out and turn the hand so the fingers face down. Use red paper or fun foam cut to match the thumb and base of the palm to make a hat. Use bits from cotton balls for the fluff on the hat and put more fluff at the tops of the fingers for a mustache and the fingers become the beard. Use a hole punch to make black eyes and a red nose.
