We are the worst about going shopping and having to buy snacks or drinks for us and the kids. We always talk about putting a cooler in the car but always forget about it.

Does anybody take drinks and snacks so there is no temptation to buy them?

Yes! I carry snacks for the kids, a granola bar for me and a thermos with juice in it so I can replenish their sippys. I keep an extra bottle or two of water in my car so I can just pop that in my bag and head out. But that is stuff I carry with me no matter what, just to make my life easier

Nope...and I don't feel the temptation to buy them. I've never done that and the kids don't ask, probably because we don't do it. We're also not out for so long that snacks or drinks would even need to be required.

No, but I don't take the kids Christmas shopping with me, I am buying for them. LOL. If I go out on Black Friday, I try to put a meal in the budget, because it is a treat for me. I don't go out to eat often. When I take the kids to do there own Christmas shopping, I budget a meal in too, because they don't get to go out to eat often either.

I always have granola bars in my purse because I get hypoglycemic. I almost always have fruit snacks for the girls. I do it more out of convenience and not to avoid temptation to buy something.

I usually have done most of my Christmas shopping while the kids and dh were at school. I could get more done while I was alone and during the day. We try to eat before we go out, it gets pretty expensive with 2 teenagers.

If we go to the mall, we will have a meal at the food court because we tend to stay at the mall for a few hours. When they were smaller, I always had a juice pouch and crackers (goldfish, graham, etc..) to keep them happy until I could feed them later, whether it was at home or out. I never felt temptation to buy, but there was the occasional whining I had to listen to.

We dont get snacks while shopping because we have budgeted to go out for lunch or dinner after shopping, as a treat.

If I was planning an all-day shopping venture, I always just budgeted in lunch at someplace cheap. I don't want to carry around extra food in addition to purchases.

If DH and I Christmas shop together, we either go out to breakfast first or out to lunch during. It's part of the budget.
