Oh, Kathryn, the more I read your posts, the more I think we would be really good friends in "real life". I rarely buy used (sometimes off e-bay, but not that often). And, Lands End is my favorite brand hands down due to the quality. I am sitting here now in a Lands End sweater I got on clearance at Sears for $8. I love it! In October, I got some LE tanks for $3 at Sears on clearance for the summer. My kids mostly wear LE, too, but I have never paid full price.

I don't have a ton of clothes or shoes, but I try to buy quality that will last me awhile, too. I have discovered, the hard way, it saves money in the long run.

Also, Happymom is sooo right! I only buy something I would like to wear, not something because it was inexpensive!

I don't have very much luck buying myself used clothing at yard sales and thrift stores. All of the adult clothes always look so...used.

I just stick with good old Wal-Mart. Sometimes I stumble across some great sales. At the end of last summer I bought 5 Hanes women's short-sleeved shirts for $1 each. I thought that was a pretty good deal for shirts I will wear quite a bit.

I really have better luck just buying clothing on sale. The thrift stores here are pretty high-8.00 for tops, 10.00 for pants, and they don't look that great. I like to shop sales and the clearance racks, too. Sears does mark down the LE mdse. pretty drastically, and I shop online and buy brands that I know will fit and last. For the kids, I will sometimes buy at the thrift store, but yard sales here are just a bunch of junk. I'm jealous of people that find good things at yardsales. My sister in michigan is very lucky. They have nice things at the thrift shops and she has found beautiful items at yard sales. When we go to vegas, I find the thrift stores are full of great things, even new clothes donated from stores. here, a blouse with a hole is 8.00! It's crazy!

Does Plato's closet have teen boys also? I saw one for the first time in Tulsa this past weekend. Are they terribly expensive?
