Early retirement...hopefully by 45 or 50, as well as being able to be a sahm.

That's what motivates us.

I am motivated by challenging myself and working for a goal. I set a $25 per person-per week dollar limit. (includes EVERTHING, pet food cleaning supplies...) and it can be done. Lots of fruits and veggies, smaller meat portions, very healthy. The thrill of the hunt and the desire to be successful has kept me going for over three years now. Watch the ads, use coupons if you have them, only buy what is on sale and work your meals around the sales, make your appliances work for youtoo...crock pot, pressure cooker, bread machine...My fridge and freezer are full.
One other thing, learn the name of the man/woman who runs the meat and fish department at you grocery store. Greet them by name every week. Every week. *Soon you can start asking him what is the best value? point me to your sale of the day... when do things get marked down? 'Joe' even sets some things aside for me.
The savings are going into an early retirement fund. Who wants to work until... well, more than you have too. *
PS: one benefit, when I stopped hitting the snack, soda, chip, frozen dinner...isles...I lost some weight too! (a huge positive) *I limited my dining out to once a month-that alone saved a Bundle, probably had a significant contribution to the weight loss too.
Good luck to all.

Having a big family motivates me....working on getting that bigger house...with 5-6 bedrms and 3-4 bathrms. Every penny, nickel, dime, quarters and etc...that we can save to reach our dream home.
My dh works extra side jobs to put extra food and money in savings just for us. We are his motivating factor.
I have this picture of this house posted on big jar and I put any loose change in there...so far I have $200.00 in change... goes to our dream home and we are working on getting it soon. Even our kids are saving towards our dream home.
So anywhere I can save in groceries, utilities, and etc....to help reach our goal in getting our dream home...would make me the happiest sahm!

Being able to stay home with my babies and eventually have one more motivates me. I also adore getting the best deal possible pairing rebates, sales and coupons gives me a real sense of satifaction
