Dh doesn't really notice except for medicines. So I just refill his One a Day vitamin bottle with walmart brand vitamins and he's none the wiser. He swers the off brand meds don't work as well, but most of them do.

There are a few things I am very brand loyal to though. We do not buy Ranch dressing unless it is Hidden Valley, dh doesn't mind so much but I hate the others. Also I buy Libby's veggies, not really a name brand but not store brand either...I think they have more flavor or something.

Otherwise we buy a lot of store brand. Most of it is made by the same people anyway

We buy mostly at Aldi's. Almost everything there is their brand and he's fine w/ that. Once I did buy their brand of mayo. he didn't like it at all, it did taste a little "tangy" so I buy Miracle Whip (love it when it's on sale).

On the occasion that we need something he will run to the store (not Aldi's) that is closest to our house he will buy their brand.

So, he isn't brand loyal at all except for when it comes to Miracle Whip mayo.

My dh used to only buy name brands. But he also never budgeted and got himself in his financial crisis. After he finally accepted the fact that we were struggling financially, he doesn't have any problem with store brand. In fact, he's getting really good at comparing prices and choosing the one that is the cheapest. The only thing he has mentioned is that he prefers Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup to the store brand. As inexpensive as that is, I let him get his way!

The only thing that he really cares about is Advil. He says the generic doesn't work. But, since I am doing the shopping, that is what I bought and he hasn't complained since.

I also started making homemade iced tea this week and he has been taking that to work instead of his regular mountain dew. Talk about saving $$. I hope he keeps it up, because that will save a lot of $$ in the long run.
