Have you ever switched from a name brand to a generic brand and your dh hasn't noticed? He likes namebrand coffee creamer and for almost a year I was purchasing Walmart brand and putting it in his namebrand container.

He hasn't said anything since I switched to Aldi's coffee and namebrand toilet paper from HyVee.

I cannot switch from Heinz ketcup though.

Yes I do it all the time. I switch his oj becuase it saves me a dollar.

He says he can tell the difference, but when I "switch" on him without telling him he never notices!

One time I made a meal with Boca crumbles (vegetarian) that required ground beef and he never even said a word.

DH prefers cheap things and I think it is because of how he was raised. Like, his Mom used the paper thin, very cheap toilet paper when he was a kid (and still does) and he hates when i use anything else (which i do ALL the time) . Other than that he really has no preference. He doesnt drink soda, eat chips, etc. And he actually comments on me buying cheaper with "AWESOME!! WALMART BRAND!!" weirdo

All the time. I even made instant mashed potatoes last night for dinner and doctored them up with some italian seasoning, garlic powder and butter. He sucked them right down - I dont think he noticed the difference. And actually, for once I liked them (I used to be completely averse to them) -- Betty Crocker has brought them quite far compared to 10 years ago! LOL 10 minutes to prepare and 30 cents for the package made it taste even better

My dh would never know the difference. Actually he has no name brand loyalty. He would know though if I tried to serve instant mashed potatoes!!!

Hay what with the crack on instant potatoes! I like them.

My hubby would notice in a heartbeat. Hes so funny about his name brands. Hes worse than a woman. He will only use Pampers, Cottonelle, Cheer or All, Dove bar soap to name a few. Weird.

Except for buying TP and Albacore tuna I dont think he could care less what brand of whatever else I buy. I am the freak about having real potatoes. I will use instant in a pinch but ummmm not crazy about it.

I have to confess I do this all the time. (I hope he doesn't read this). Once I even replaced the ground beef in my lasagna reciepe with imitation veggie ground beef. I was really surprised he didn't notice that one! I tell him the truth if he asks but usually I just refill the 'real' bottle of whatever with the generic one I purchased.
