Our local news reported that this was the SLOWEST day after Christmas in over 20 years. The wrapping paper, gift baskets, decorations and every thing else is FULL. Nobody is buying at 50% off.

I bought!! BUT, I was 100% out of wrapping paper..and still had to wrap some after Christmas Christmas gifts!!! I also picked up some little bath stuff for Valentine's for four of six kids....but that was about it this year. NO decorations, greenery, etc, nor did I end up finding any birthday gifts like I normally do. I DID notice that there were NO crowds...which was really odd! I guess we ARE rubbing off on each other!!!

I agree. I went out to do my New Years grocery shopping expecting the stores to be packed and there wasn't many people at all. I usually pick up a few rolls of wrap and other gifts but only bought 1 combo ribbon roll for 1.44!

I finished shopping for next year and was more than pleasantly surprised and delighted at not only the selection but the lack of crowds while shopping! YEAH! lol It has really worked in my favor because I don't want to pay full price if I don't absolutely have to! I would purchase for a few years in advance but I'm afraid even those bath sets wouldn't last that long! lol

I actually didn't see very good prices. 50% off original price isn't much, considering many of the pre-Christmas sales were already that or near half that. The toys are picked over, and what's left over at Target certainly isn't clearanced priced, although it's tagged that it is. Same at ToysRUs. The retailers think we're dumber than we are, I guess.

Ditto! At Walmart I was almost DARING them to entice me with something... come on... make me wanna buy something! But the prices were not good enough, stuff was picked over.. we aren't dumb!! Give us ROCK bottom! I would break down and buy some darn wrapping paper if it was CHEAP. But it drives me nuts how you get so little wrap on each of those rolls... even 50% off isn't good enough for me. I want it almost FREE.

I got out at 6:30 on the day after Christmas - and store was practically empty! At least compared to when I used to go AC shopping w/my mom years ago.

I bought a few decorations - mainly unbreakable decorations, b/c our tree was sooo bare this year, and some wrapping paper (we were down to about 1/2 a roll). I also managed to pick up a Read W/Me DVD player for $7 for Christmas next year. I wasn't too excited about this until I saw the exact same one at another store for 15.99 - and the sign said it was 60% off!

I'm always afraid to wait for the 75 or 90% off sales - I would think most stuff would be picked over.

I haven't seen any after Christmas sales that can beat Dollar Tree prices.

A tip I just read about-instead of buying special containers to hold opening wrapping paper use legs from old pantyhose.
