I know some of you are regular rebaters and wondered if you could offer some advice. Which stores are best to shop for rebates? Any tips for getting started?

I've received rebates from Walgreens and I found out today that Dollar General also has a rebate program.

Rite Aid has rebates and you can enter everything online (very simple)...alot of time the items will be FREE after rebate. 99% of the items will be on Sale one week during the month so wait for the sale price and then buy it and submit rebate info. They have a new Rebate flyer each month or you can go online at www.riteaid.com and look at the rebate items for that month...after you purchased all the items you want for that month you can request ONE check---super simple. I've even forgot to request the check and they still send it out to me anyway.

I love Walgreens rebate program. We don't have RiteAid, but I hear they are very similar.

I have found Linens N things to have good rebates. I was just in there the other day and noticed alot of items with rebate tags and the last rebate I did with them was a memory foam pillow which they emailed me to let me know that my $20 was in the mail. I think that is a good idea so you know that it is on its way.

Walgreen's is the best one for consistant rebates. Every month they put out a new book and all you have to do is go in and get one. There are usually several things "free after rebate". Some months more than others. Last August or September there was like $70something in "free after rebate" but that was a really good month. AND if you get your rebate returned to you in the form of a Walgreen's gift card, they will add 10% to the total so it's even better than free. I love it and do it every month. Sometimes throughout the month things will go on sale and that will make more items free.

RiteAid also does one in much the same way as Walgreen's only I don't think they have as many items in theirs.

CVS does something too but you need a card to get it. You also need a card just to get any of their specials. It's done much differently than most rebate programs and your "money" prints out at the register within a few days. I don't know much about this one as I do not participate in it.

But, try Walgreen's out for a month or two. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I almost forgot....at Walgreen's you can also use coupons for your rebate items- making buying the item earn you money. You can also stack coupons - use a Walgreen's coupon AND a manufacture coupon for the same item. Walgreen's puts coupons out in their flyers every week and in their rebate catalog every month. Also, if something is BOGO, you can use two coupons.

Wow this is all foriegn to me, I never thought about rebates. I mean I knew about them, but didn't realize the stores offered them. I jsut filled out my papers for my rebates on the Sirius radio I bought dh from radio shack. It was a PITN cuz I had to find a copy machine and make copys of the recipt and the UPC barcode to send in. But the $30 will be worth it.

How exactly do you find these rebates? The closeset store to me is Brooks. Does anyone know if this place does rebates?
