I stayed home 1/1...and 1/2, went to Old Navy, Pet Smart, and Target (twice!). I only spent $4 and change! I had to exchange some shirts for my ds, and there was an overage on my part, of course. I bought NOTHING else!!!
My big kids went back to school today, and the girls go back tomorrow. I HAVE to do some grocery shopping..and have NO coupons. I am going to go to Aldi's...and just try to be very careful. The big thing is we are out of meat completely..which I am not thrilled with at Aldi's. Any suggestions???

Hope this doesn't duplicate. I typed out a response and lost it.
I'm pleased so far. Yesterday I bought two rolls of wrap for .24 each, 1 box ornaments for .94, formula and fresh fruit.
Today I bought 1 toy for next years Christmas reg. $20. for $5.00
The nice thing is that I scrounged around and collected all the items that I did not use and returned over $230. worth. That felt terrific.

This great for accountablity for me!

1/1 - $0 - never left the house

1/2 - $40 - Dr. apptointments for myself. I managaed to somehow step on a sewing needle and had 1/2 of it break off into my heel. After an hour of the Dr digging around in my foot, he got it out. I am to stay off of my foot (good luck!) until the stitches come out next week.

1/3 $0- pretty safe to say I woln't be going anywhere today.

I do have one quick question though, should I list the $$ dh spends or just me?

One of my resolutions was to only spend $ if it was absolutley necessary, with a specific emphasis on cutting & tracking the amount we spend on enterntainment.

So far:

1/1 $0-- never left the house

1/2 $45 something on groceries and fast food at Taco Bell. Stuck to grocery list except when I found a deal on cake mix for .89 a box and frosting for 1.29 per jar. This is a really good deal in my area, so I stocked up. Usually the best I can do for cake mix on sale is 10/$1.00. I also found some organic baby food on sale. Large jars at 10/$7.00. Bought a box of Lucky Charms on impulse, and paid too much for milk, because the store that charges way less was much further away.

1/3 $0 -- never left the house.

Obviously, I need to stay home more often -LOL. I know I will need to avoid any store or aisle where books and magazines are sold. Those are a true weakness for me.

Ohhh boy I hit Costco today for some things. I only bought one thing that was not on my list, but goodness the total made my heart sink. It was $116.00. I had returned a few things today to Kohl's and Costco, but that only amounted to $55.00 or so (I thought it would be more...)

True, the Costco items I bought were things we use (and included salad, eggs and diapers, which cost a lot)... but they weren't 'hard core' necessities.

BUT the good news is we avoided the food court. And, I've not gone out to eat in so long, I can't remember.
