I took the little one to the store yesterday to let hre spend her saved money on a special toy. Turns out she had quite a stash of money so she got two items that she had wanted for Christmas but didn't get - the My Little Pony Crystal Castle (a big hunk of plastic that I was trying to ban from my house) and an Easy Bake Oven.

I tried so hard to convince her that the oven wouldn't be as much fun as baking in the oven we already have but my pleas fell on deaf ears. I realized this is one of those situations where she was going to have to experience the consequences of her decision to learn.

So we made the piddly-little yellow cake yesterday and the little one is HOOKED. Heaven help me!

So, anyone have any links to recipes for other items? I really don't want to be buying the pre-mixed packs they have available. No, I won't make the little one buy her own baking mixes. I want this thing to run it's course and die. Help!

You can use the Jiffy boxes and make about 10 cakes for about $.40. Hope that helps!!

I cannot believe the cost of those mixes - way more than the full size mixes that I buy. I wish I had known how to make the ones you are talking about when my kids were little. I swear though when I was little I LOVED my easy bake oven!!!!

If you google recpies for Easy Bake oven you will get many choices. My DD6 got one and she loves it also. Those recpies are all that I use.
