Today, I wanted to do my Walmart trip right. I needed a bunch of groceries, and decided to head to Walmart. I sometimes make a list, but always (ALWAYS!!!!) buy more than is on my list. So, I listened to what many of you have suggested in the past and I did it. I sat down and make a menu for the week, thinking about what I already have lying around. Then, I started a grocery list of the items that I would need to buy. Then I added some things we were out of like kitty litter. When I went to Walmart, I only got the items on the list. In fact, I decided NOT to get a couple items, due to their cost.

So. . .what you all are advising is really sinking in with me! I had a pretty full cart - and only spent $45!

Great Job...before you know it, it will be second nature. Then you will be a frugal addict like the rest of us

I try to ask myself do I "need this" if not, I really try not to buy it.
Junk food for example, I tell myself, it saves us a lot of money, and my wasteline too.. No junk food in house, save money, and no temptation.

I also ask myself, can I do this cheaper, or buy this cheaper.

My biggest weakness is eating out. I only eat out once a week or every two weeks, and it usually is MCD...a no, no for good health...I am trying to get myself content with going to MCD and getting a salad with chicken, small fry, and diet soda. around 3 dollars.

I also try to do like most of us, and clean out my stockpile before shopping again. I usually buy milk and eggs every 2 weeks, but other things I usually only go grocery shopping once a month. Since I have a deep freeze, I use Shop N Save's 10 dollar off coupon, at Schnucks when they have one, and buy our meats.

Being frugal is an addiction. At least it is a good one!!

Keep up the good work!

Carolyn
