I remember my Mom telling me that when we were younger and as we grew out of clothes, should would add length by cutting off the cuffs and adding material.

I thought at the time that I wouldn't want to do this because of the time needed to alter, as well as "I could afford to buy new ones".

Well since I've become a Mom and now realize how quickly the little ones grow, I have been doing the same thing to DS's sleepers with great results! The most recent was a little snuggabye sleeper that became too short in the legs and arms, but the body was perfect. I carefully cut off the cuffs on both arms and legs, added some while sweatshirt material (which by the way was saved from one of my old sweats that I grew out of) and the sewed on the cuffs again.

I also replaced the domes because the sleeper was second hand to begin with, and the domes were chipped and one missing.

I have to say, that it is now my favorite sleeper and he will wear it for probably 5 or 6 more months! Total cost? Sleeper bought second hand for .99 cents, wore for probably 4or 5 months, added .75 cents for new white domes and projected "wear-ability" of another 6 months equals approx. .17 cents per month for that outfit.

If they have feet in them- cut off the feet and either use like that or put socks on the baby or sew the socks onto the sleeper.
