I got three gift cards for Christmas: Old Navy, Best Buy, and American Eagle. Even though before Christmas there was absolutely nothing I needed (or even really wanted) from any of these places, I am obsessed with thinking about how to spend them now. It's horrible! I even went to the mall today to try and find something at AE that I wanted, and left emptyhanded because I couldn't find anything on the sale rack. I was really dissapointed. Why can't I just be happy to hang on to these cards until I find something? Why are they burning a hole in my pocket?

There just wasn't anything that we really needed with our gift cards. In the past, I would have had a little shopping spree, just to spend the money. But now that we are watching every penny, I just didn't see the need.

So, we have sold or bartered several of the ones that we have gotten. In fact, we got a fertility monitor in trade for one of them. We sold another gift card on eBay and used the money to buy the testing strips for it. This monitor is something we could not have afforded, so we feel very blessed. We know that the people who gave the gift cards to us would be pleased, but we still aren't going to tell them, in case they're not!

We had Target and of course that was spent right away, that is the store I go to for everything. We still have some others but I'm waiting for deals/things we need.
You can sell them or trade them on Craigslist if you don't need them at all I would do that!

DH got a ton of cards, and spent them all in a day. I was very jealous. And together we recieved one to Home Depot. We still haven't spent it, but we're waiting b/c we have a ton of stuff to do as far getting the new baby's room ready.

And about American Eagle--I went to their web site today and noticed they had a lot of new things out for the spring that werent at stores yet.

I have Linens n Things, Dress Barn, Sears, a general "mall" gift card, and a merchandise card from returning a bunch of stuff to Kohl's - dh got a bunch of stuff he didn't want and I returned it for $118 in credit. I plan on using that for school uniforms this fall.

I need a new bath rug for the guest bath (due to a small flood the original got ruined) and would normally buy one at Wal Mart but I might go to LnT because of the card. I'm going to try to use the cards first before spending cash.

I've been trying to stay out of the stores to save $$$$--it seems to be working. I have about $400 more as of the 15th of this month than I have as of the 15th of any other month in the last year! So I guess I've saved about $400 by staying out of the stores for 15 days! I can't believe I spent so much on NOTHING!!!!

Hehehe. Were you in Memphis tonight watching us?!?! Dh and I went out to dinner without the kids by using a gift card we had gotten for Christmas AND calling in on a debt our oldest ds owed! He babysat his younger siblings while we were gone for a few hours. Gotta' love that!
I also have a Target card, a Cato's Card, and a little left on my Hobby Lobby cards (I got two). I am not a Target person, so that one is a toughie for me. Cato's, well, since I am loosing weight right now, I really want to save it for the NEW ME!!! Hobby Lobby...well, that is another one I don't need anything from but darn it, I HAVE to spend that card, don't I?!??!?!!? Hehehe!!! Dh was smart by buying that one..it was money I would have spent regardless!!!! LOL

I still have several Target gift cards and 2 Wal-Mart gift cards. I personally didn't receive any of them but my older kids did and they found things they wanted at Best Buy so I bought their gift cards from them.

I'm saving the Target ones until a fireplace screen I've had my eye on goes on clearance.

My Grandparents gave us one for Dillard's. And we have been wanting to get new bed sheets, comforter, the works. I really liked something at another store, but now I am finding myself purposely looking at Dillards to do this, and have yet to find something that we really like. But I am wanting to get rid of this gift card. What to do....... You would think I could be patient until I see something I really like....it is not like it is going to expire...LOL. Good luck with your decision!!
