I just wondered if anyone used the Share Food program and how it works. Looks like it could save some money for a large family, but there are only 2 of us and I wondered how it would work.

We used to do it but moved and there isn't a program where we live (and I'm not motivated enough to start one.) I think the SHARE program is great. This is NOT a charity. It is a buying co-op where you pre-order a preselected food package for a greatly reduced price. Some of the items in our produce packages would be seasonal and it challenged me to cook something I normally wouldn't chose, but that was frequently healthier and more interesting. They didn't ask us to volunteer often. It certainly wasn't a hardship on my time. The only problem I had with my program is they would let the food sit out in the hot sun during the summer so I made a point to get there very early for pick-up.

Is this like the Angel Food network? I have seen that advertised in my area but never done it.
