I was just going to say that my clothes would still have stains - but if I wore one of those 'grandma' type shirt aprons that would cover everything...guess I'm getting old.LOL

After runing a pair of "indoor" pants with a curry that splashed down the front I made my self a promise that at the end of the month Im going to go buy an apron.

Always used to laugh at my grandmother for wearing one, but after I realized that I could have stained an item of clothing that I really liked intead of my house clothes I changed my mind very fast.

I'm glad I just saw this! Years ago when the Sopranos was starting it's first season, we got a promo pack of stuff from DH work and in it was a Soprano's apron...I use it when cooking something messy and DH thinks it's 'cute' when I wear it...not really what I'm going for here pal, but thanks! I do notice less stains on my clothes when I wear it...Hmmm.....I should try it for cleaning, usually I just throw on one of his old shirts...

I don't use my apron as much as I should. It is below the knee and not comfy. Maybe I should try to alter it on the sewing machine.

I've never worn an apron (except when I was little) and I probably should. I usually just throw on one of dh's old army shirts so I don't have to worry about it.

An apron would be good for times when I'm cooking a special dinner for dh and I, if we are having people over or are going somewhere after. I might try one for cleaning too. I have a pair of pants I use for cleaning or painting that I've already ruined so I usually just wear them.

I was just thinking I was going to make myself one. I too have bleach spots on some of my 'good' pants. I was so mad at myself when it happened, and yet, the next time I'm using bleach I think 'I won't get it on me this time'.. and sure enough... So, it'll be much better when I just put an apron on.

I got a nice thick apron from a thrift store for $2.00 and was so excited, because i was tired of finding little grease spots on my favorite shirts. I wear it alot now and especially when i am frying hamburger or bacon or anything that will splatter grease on me.

My kids got a cute apron and chef's hat set for Christmas that was purchased from Pampered Chef. They love it! The apron is adjustable, too. So, it fits all the kids and me!

I might add that out Home Depot has free kids' workshops on th first Saturday of each month. The first time a child attends, s/he gets a free Home Depot apron to keep. I know it meant for other projects, but it could do double duty in the kitchen!

I got my apron at a restaurant supply store. It cost me $3.00 and is of comparable quality to the Williams-Sonoma aprons.

Restaurant supply stores are great for other kitchen bargains too.
